Nokia’s first tablet will go on sale next week. The Finnish phone firm has announced its Lumia 2520 slate PC will hit shop shelves on Wednesday, December 4. It’ll cost £399.99, and will be exclusive to John Lewis at first.

We knew the tablet was coming sometime before Christmas, but this is the first we’ve heard of an exact date.

The 10.1-inch slate is equipped for 4G, and has a 6.7-megapixel snapper on the back. Given how impressive Nokia’s smartphone cameras are, we’re intrigued to see how its tablet’s snapper performs.

It also has a 2-megapixel front-facer.

Inside is a 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB of RAM. Nokia claims its 800mAh battery will give it 11 hours of life before needing a recharge.

Windows RT 8.1 comes as standard, letting you edit Excel, Word and PowerPoint documents, as well as use Outlook. Nokia’s Camera and Video Director software also let you get creative with your stills and footage respectively.

The Lumia 2520 comes in a glossy case that’s white or red, or a matte case that’s black or cyan.

Nokia’s Lumia 1520 also goes on sale next week, on Friday December 6. The 6-inch smartie is the biggest Nokia has ever made, and also the largest ever Windows Phone handset.
