Access your iTunes collection with the Sony G Series

More and more people may be opting for iPod docks over traditional stereos, but that hasn’t stopped Sony from releasing the G Series – the Japanese company’s latest micro Hi-Fi. Designed to take full advantage of digital music – including the ability to stream music from your iPhone, iPad and computer – it offers everything you need to stay entertained.

In a world of cheap iPod docks, where plastic often rules the roost, the Sony G Series makes a nice change. Knowing Sony, it’ll still be semi-affordable, yet the casing is made from aluminium, giving a classy design and top-notch build quality.

Out of all the G Series’ features, it’s the inclusion of AirPlay on the Sony G2BNiP that impresses the most. This lets you play back your iTunes collection from iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, along with music from your computer, via Wi-Fi, without the need for any cables. The display can also show song information, letting you know the artist, album name and more.

Relative technophobes will still be able to connect regular MP3 players, iPods and memory sticks via USB port, and other digital sources include a DAB radio. If all that’s too high tech for you, you’ll be able to resort to the G Series’ integrated CD player.

Sony has yet to announce prices for the G Series, but if it sounds half as good as it looks we really want one.
