Five for the weekend: World's thinnest camera and world's first Mango smartphone

We’ve seen some excellent gadgets and toys this week, with the world’s thinnest compact camera and the world’s first Mango smartphone both cropping up. We’ve scoured the best of what’s on offer this week, rounding up the top five for you to consider this weekend. Read on to find out more.

Eee Pad Transformer updateOK, so the latest 3.2 Honeycomb update is software rather than hardware, but if you haven’t already bought an Eee Pad Transformer there’s never been a better time. If you already have one, be sure to check for the latest updates, as Android should now be faster, smoother and better. Considering the software is the Transformer’s weakest link, it could make this fantastic tablet even better.

Olympus PEN E-PL3Olympus’ PEN range already features some of the most impressive Micro Four Thirds cameras on the market, but the E-PL3 looks even better. It’s available in a range of different colours, and with a host of different lenses to shoot all subject matters, making it the perfect camera for those wanting DSLR performance in a compact and stylish package.

Fujitsu Toshiba Windows Phone IS12TSet to come out in the near future, the IS12T is going to be the first Mango Windows Phone handset to hit the shops. With a high-resolution screen, fluid and contemporary operating system, and features including a 13.2-megapixel camera, it should be well worth waiting for.

Sony Walkman NWZ-A865BMAlthough it’s possible to play music on just about every new phone, we still prefer a dedicated music player for a number of reasons. The NWZ-A865BM will let you play music for hours without worrying about the battery life of your phone, and it should also offer top-notch music quality. With a large colour screen, it’s also the perfect media player.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX55Another great entry from Sony, the DSC-TX55 takes the title of the world’s thinnest compact camera. It’s packed with features as well, including a 3.3-inch OLED touchscreen, and there’s a 16.2-megapixel sensor for taking stunningly detailed photographs.
