The Nokia 700 ‘Zeta’ looks set to usher in a new generation of Nokia smartphones, featuring an overhauled version of Symbian ^3. We’d already seen some leaked images of the handset, but there are now some decent press shots of Nokia’s latest baby.
Clad in white, with a brushed aluminium battery cover, the Nokia 700 ‘Zeta’ looks like an evolution of the Finnish company’s past and present touchscreen handsets. There are call, end and menu keys as with devices like the Nokia C6-01 an the overall shape is also familiar.
Those expecting a revolution from Nokia look likely to be disappointed with this handset then, but there are some plus points. The 700 ‘Zeta’ features the latest version of Symbian ^3 known as Belle and it gives the OS a more contemporary and slick design.
Whether it can compete with the likes of iOS and Android remains to be seen, but it’s interesting to see Nokia sticking determinedly with Symbian ^3 for the time being.
