LG Ultimate Display world’s largest and slimmest 55-inch OLED TV?

LG Ultimate Display world’s largest and slimmest 55-inch OLED TV?

LG has been wowing crowds with its new 55-inch OLED super slim television. As OLED TVs go, LG says it is the largest and slimmest of its kind, and the most advanced OLED TV to go on the market, once it arrives later this year.

LG is also calling it the Ultimate Display. The 55-inch OLED TV measures just 4mm in thickness. Its connectors are stored and held in place by the equally gorgeous base. It houses all sorts of technology to make it shine.

LG’s 55-inch OLED TV technology is the result of years of research and refinement since it launched the world’s first commercial 15-inch OLED TV in 2009. LG is promising perfect viewing angles and superb contrasts using LG’s 4 Colour Pixel technology and Colour Refiner know-how to produce vibrant, natural images that are easy on the eye.

LG is hoping that its 55-inch OLED will help cement its plans to become the number one OLED TV brand. And that means we should expect to see more LG OLED TVs in future.

A UK release date for the LG’s 55-inch Ultimate Display OLED TV has not been set, but we do know it will be priced around the €8,000 (£6,400) mark.

The LG 55-inch OLED TV isn’t the only large television to make headlines. Back in March Toshiba finally put on sale its glasses-free 3D TV on sale in John Lewis for the price of £6,999.

Both come at a price, but which would you go for. The thin build and clarity of the lG 55-inch OLED, or the futuristic glasses-free 3D viewing of the Toshiba 55ZL2?
