Vodafone Smart Tab 2: Meet the cheapest 3G Android tablet yet!
Hankering after one of the new seven inch tablets out there? There’s another to add to the mix: the Vodafone Smart 2, which launches today. Like the superb Google Nexus 7, it runs Android and packs 3G for downloads on the go – but it’s much cheaper.
The Vodafone Smart Tab 2 (which is actually made by Lenovo) runs Android 4.0 on a seven inch screen and is powered by a 1GHz processor. It runs just about any app you can get on the Nexus 7, and packs in front and rear cameras for web chats too. It comes with 3G built-in, just like the newly launched 32GB Nexus 7, as well as 4GB of storage, which you can bump up with a micro SD card.
The bigs news though, is the price. It’s only £29 on a £20 per month contract with 2GB of data to gobble up, and just £149.99 on Pay As You Go. It’s this last option that’s got us particularly excited: that’s a tenner less than the Wi-Fi only Nexus 7, £50 less than the 3G Nexus 7, and a whole £220 less than the iPad mini with a data connection
