LG 3D monitor promises to bring movies and games to life

We’ve already seen more and more TVs with 3D technology, but 3D monitors are still pretty thin on the ground. The LG DM50D is a hybrid – a monitor with an integrated TV tuner, and capable of displaying 3D images. Better yet, you won’t have to wear active 3D glasses.

The LG DM50D is the South Korean company’s latest monitor. There’s currently no mention of the size, but we’d hazard a guess that the ‘50’ in its model name hints at 50cm (we’d struggle to fit a 50 incher on our desk).

If space in your home is limited, the LG DM50D monitor could be the perfect gadget. It features an integrated TV tuner, so you’ll be able to catch up with the Gadget Show when you’re not using your PC, and it also offers USB Quick View technology. This means you’ll be able to plug in a memory stick or hard drive, and watch movie files without having to turn on your computer.

The LG DM50D also gets Passive Cinema 3D technology, promising to bring images and video to life. With 2D-to-3D conversion available, it’ll work with photos and videos, and all without having to wear a pair of active 3D glasses. Unfortunately you’ll still have to don a pair of polarized specs, but at least they’re relatively normal looking, cheap and don’t need batteries.

Available next month, prices for the LG DM50D have yet to be announced

Ice Jackets for Beer How To Use
1) Fill Mold with water

2) Place into freezer, allow 4 hours to freeze

3) Remove from freezer and remove from molds

4) Store in freezer

5 & 6) Place bottle into frozen form, Grip form and with upward motion place neck of bottle through tension ring and slip base of ice form/beer bottle assembly onto base of handle device. Features in handle device lock ice form into place in conjunction with downward force created by tension ring. Reservoir within base of handle device collects nominal runoff - importantly - because bottle beer is served at such a low temp the ice form solely acts to maintain the temperature of the beer. Ice Jacket 4Beer (IJ4Beer) is not a 'cooling' device but like the Ice Jacket itself, a temperature maintenance device.

7) Server or bartender offers assembly to guest

8) Enjoy your ice cold beer to the very last drop…
