We’ve already been using the BBC’s iPlayer app to watch the latest programmes without needing to switch on the TV, but now ITV wants to get in on the action. The company has released its own Android and iOS app, letting you catch up with content from ITV1, ITV2, ITV3 and ITV4.
It seems like we’re using the TV less and less recently, with excellent online sites and apps letting you play catchup whenever you want to watch your favourite programmes on your laptop, mobile phone or tablet.
ITV is now following in the footsteps of the BBC and Channel 4 by launching its own mobile app, letting you watch content from ITV1, ITV2, ITV3 and ITV4. The app is set to work with both Android and iOS devices – including the Apple iPad – although there’s currently no tablet version for Android.
As with the BBC’s iPlayer app, you’ll need a Wi-Fi connection on your phone to access content, so you won’t be watching movies wherever you go, but it still looks like a handy app to have.
