Motorola Droid Bionic set to launch in September

We’d already seen shots of the Motorola Droid Bionic, after an online retailer accidentally posted images of the new handset on its website. Motorola has now confirmed the Bionic, and it’s set to launch in September. Read on to find out more.

The Motorola Droid Bionic is the latest Android smartphone to hit the market, and it’s announcement was no surprise. Retailer Amazon had already posted images of the new handset, along with a host of peripherals including a couple of charging docks.

Now Motorola has announced the arrival of the Droid Bionic, with the handset set to ship in September. The Bionic will feature a large 4.3-inch screen – aping the latest high-end smartphones, and you’ll find a 1GHz dual-core processor powering the Android OS

You’ll be able to get a couple of different docks for the Droid Bionic, charging the handset, letting you use it as a clock, and there’s even a dock with several USB ports and an HDMI connection, making it easier than ever to hook up your HDTV.

Is 4.3 inches a little too large for a smartphone? For us, the Samsung Galaxy S II and the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc sit right on the line between comfort and usability – with the super-skinny designs making the big screens more acceptable. We’d love to hear your thoughts though.
